From Bathtubs to Business Owner
Katie Plummer never planned to be Trowbridge’s most trusted groomer.

Her love for animals started young. College led to work experience at local dog-grooming salon, which turned into a Saturday job and then a full apprenticeship. By 17 she was running the salon solo on busy days, clippers in one hand, confidence building in the other.

Then 2020 hit. Furloughed and locked down, Katie refused to let her clients down. She started with her Nan’s Cockapoo in the family bathtub, moved to the dining table for trims, and took bookings in the driveway, socially distanced of course.
Word spread faster than shed fur: Katie’s still grooming! Dog-park strangers became regulars. Guerrilla marketing at its fluffiest.

Five years on, that hustle has evolved into The Dog Cabin, a custom-built modular cabin in Trowbridge. Fully insured, one-to-one focus, no distractions. Owners can stay, especially for nervous pups, because trust isn’t rushed.

Even if she won the lottery, she’d still be here, scissors in hand.
